| Temporary Firefox Extensions Mirror |
| Date: November 15, 2004 From: NoClue Now that Firefox 1.0 (for real) has been released, I'd guess that a few of our more-resistant-to-change Members might be ready to try it. Mozilla Update seems to be getting a little speedier, but there are still a lot of extensions that have been updated by the author, but not yet added to Mozilla Update. Besides, I've got a boatload of upgrades to do, and this page will make that a lot easier for me. :) There are quite a few extensions that have not been upgraded yet...who knows why? It might be that the author has lost interest, or doesn't have the time. It could also be that he or she has a new version coming out soon, and plans to change the maxversion number with the new release. Of those extensions, many worked just fine with the 1.0 Preview Release and should work just fine with 1.0 Final. For my own use, I've unzipped the install file, opened install.rdf and changed the em:maxVersion from .10+ to 1.0. Then I re-zipped them and dragged them into the Extension Manager. They have all worked fine on at least one machine. As I go about my upgrades, if I notice anything peculiar, I'll post something about it in the Upgrading to Firefox 1.0 Final thread. They should also work fine for you, but you might want to take some precautions before installing them. More about precautions. I created a new folder on the server to hold these extensions, and I set the MIME Type on the folder so that a click on any of these links should start the install process. A few members had mentioned that they like to save local copies of the install files...right-clicking on a link and choosing 'Save Link As...' will take care of that. This, of course, assume that you are using Firefox to view this page. :) When you click on the first extension link, you will probably see the 'To protect your computer, Firefox prevented this site (www.bitzenbytes.com) from installing software on your computer.' bar across the top of your screen. If you click on the 'Edit Options' button, and then on the 'Allow' button, you can click a second time on the extension link and it will install. You will only have to do this once. If you decide that you don't trust us later on, you can remove the site from your whitelist. As it says in the title of this document, this page is designed to be temporary...I don't intend to keep up with every extension update out there. In a week or so, Mozilla Update will probably be back to normal, and all my favorite extensions will be there. So this page, hopefully, will have a very short useful lifespan. ...but then again, in a less than a week or so, all my upgrades will be finished. :) --Adblock 0.5 d2 nightly 39 Add Bookmark Here 0.5.3 Allow Right-Click 0.1 Alt-Text for Links 0.1 BBCode 0.3.7 --Bookmarks Synchronizer 1.0.1 ----additional files for Bookmarks Synchronizer BugMeNot 0.6 ColorZilla 0.6.5 Context Highlight 0.1 Context Search 0.2 Cookie Culler 1.1.0 --Create Shortcut 0.2.1 Dictionary Search 0.7 Download Statusbar 0.9.1 Duplicate Tab 0.3.2 Ext2Abc 0.2 Favicon Picker 0.2.5 fireFTP 0.85.1 FoxyTunes 1.0 Google Pagerank Status 0.9.3 --Hide Searchbar 0.2 ieview 0.84 ListZilla 0.5 LiveBookmark This 0.2 LiveLines 0.3.2 Make Link 2.0 miniT (drag+indicator) 0.4 Named Anchors 0.15 OpenBook 1.2.0 Print It! 0.2.1 Sage 1.2.2 SpellBound - too many files, get it from the SpellBound Website --link to installation page Tabbrowser Preferences 0.9.97 Tweak Network 1.0 User Agent Switcher 0.6 View Cookies 1.2 --Weatherfox 0.5.1 (now ForecastFox) Web Developer 0.8 --Web Search Plus 0.1.3 Hacked Extensions(please make sure you've read and understood the warnings above)Checky 2.4 Deskcut 0.4.1 mozImage 0.10.0 Scribe 0.21 Statusbar Clock 1.6.4 TextZoom 1.6.0 --Sort Bookmarks 0.5.0.1 (hacked by ntwrklarry) Hacked Themes(Download the .jar file, then drag it into the Theme Manager to install)Qute 2.1.2 |
