Kdicegen is a dungeon and dragons style dice roller.
Current dice:
* d20 + mod
* any number of any sided dice + mod (upto about 999d999+-999, but can be increased easily)
* attack dice that takes your attack bonus, damage and crit threat to roll the current amount of attacks auto calculating criticals and natural 1s.
* stats style dice that can roll any number of any sided dice rejecting any number of the lowest or highest results
* World of Darkness, rolls any number of d10s, re-rolling on 10s (or alternately 9s or 8s) and counts the number of successes (an 8 or higher).
* A "label dice" to be able to add labels between other dice.
The dice configuration can also be saved and loaded.

This is a simple service menu entry I created for myself to easily convert videos to my Nokia 5800XM using ffmpeg. It converts the files to mpeg4 with aac. After trying several different video formats I found this to be the best. The phone should support H264, but I never got it to work. These settings probably work with phones like N95 and N97, but I haven't been able to test this.
The default folder to put the file is
/home/user/.kde/share/kde4/services/ServiceMenus (for user specific)
or
/usr/share/kde4/services/ServiceMenus (for system wide)
If for some reason your folders are different use command
kde4-config --path services
to find out the right folders.
You can easily change the ffmpeg command just by opening the file with a text editor. Currently the command is:
ffmpeg -i %u -f mp4 -vcodec mpeg4 -r 30 -b 2200k -s 640x360 -acodec libfaac -r 32000 -ab 128k -ac 2 -async 1 %u.mp4
*You need to have ffmpeg installed to use this*

digiKam is an advanced digital photo management application for KDE, which makes importing and organizing digital photos a "snap". The photos can be organized in albums which can be sorted chronologically, by directory layout or by custom collections.
Tired of the directory constraints? Don’t worry, digiKam also provides tagging functionality. You tag your images which can be spread out across multiple folders and digiKam provides fast and intuitive ways to browse these tagged images. You can also add comments and rating to your images. digiKam makes use of a fast and robust database to store these meta-informations which makes adding and editing of comments and tags very reliable.
digiKam makes use of KIPI plugins for lots of added functionality. KIPI (KDE Image Plugin Interface) is an initiative to create a common plugin infrastructure for digiKam, KPhotoAlbum, Showimg, and GwenView. Its aim is to allow development of image plugins which can be shared among KDE graphical applications.
An easy to use interface is provided that enables you to connect to your camera and preview, download and/or delete your images. digiKam includes too an image editor for image corrections and manipulations whitch can be extended by plugins.
Another tool, which most artists and photographers will be familiar with, is a Light Table. This tool assists artists and photographers with reviewing their work ensuring only the highest quality. A light table will show the artist their imperfections in which they can go and touch up. Well in digiKam, the light table function provides the user a similar experience. You can import a photo, drag it onto the light table, and touch up only the areas that need it.
The digiKam Image Editor has its own plugin subsystem with some common tools e.g. red eye correction or Gamma correction. Additional plugins are provided with the main application to process advanced corrections on image like color management, noise reduction, or special effects. digiKam Image Editor support all camera RAW file formats, 16 bits color depth, Exif/Makernote/IPTC/GPS metadata, Color management, tagging/rating/comments pictures, etc.
A lots of search tools are also available to be able to find specific photo on whole collection : Time line, Calendar, Advanced Search using multiple and complex database queries (tags, rating, keywords, date,
etc...)
A stand-alone image editor version named Showfoto is also available. It runs without digiKam images database support, but provides all Image Editor plugins.

A while ago i wrote a news-scrolling program for windows that worked exactly like the good old KNewsTicker on linux.
2008 i switched completely to linux and now i wanted also to step up to kde4. The only thing missing was the KNewsticker, which was discarded from kde4.2. The old Kde4.1 KNewsticker was unusable.
So i decided to get my beloved newsticker back on linux and wrote the NetNewsTicker for KDE 4.2.
I heavily used parts of the KNewsticker and rewrote the scrolling view and added some features i wanted to have.
I would like to share my work with anyone that also is longing for the good old KNewsTicker.
I prepackaged a deb file for kubuntu 9.04.
If you like to build it from source, invoke the following (after unpacking)
$>cd build
$>cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr/
$>make
$>sudo make install

Changed source code to version 0.5-1 that fixes a bug in the feed updating.
Changed deb package for Jaunty to version .6 which fixes a bug in the size behaviour. It's now ready to be used on KDE 4.3 also.

The overall goal of this project is to provide wireless remote control service on Linux through Bluetooth, InfraRed, Wi-Fi or just TCP/IP connection.
anyRemote supports wide range of modern cell phones line Nokia, SonyEricsson,
Motorola and others.
anyRemote was developed as thin "communication" layer between Buetooth (IR, Wi-Fi)-capabled phone
and Linux, and in principle could be configured to manage almost any software.
anyRemote could be used with:
* bluetooth connection with java client if cell phone is JSR82 compatible
* Wi-Fi connection with java client if phone supports Wi-Fi
* IR connection with java client if java realization in phone supports access to IR port
* ordinary TCP/IP connection with java client, if PC is connectable from internet
* bluetooth, infrared or cable connection using AT "modem" commands
* web interface
* it supports some of IR remotes supplied with TV tuner cards (like LIRC)
* it has limited support for Bemused clients

Enables scheduled captures using the
Hauppauge pvr150 tv card.
Although it's a KDE/Kommander app, I have tested it with Debian Gnome and XFCE. I have also tested it with X,K,Ubuntu distros as well as Ubuntu Studio.

There are now six seperate install scripts to allow for installing with different default settings for
media player, file manager and editor. Three of the scripts are for Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Xubuntu.
The other three are for a Debian install with KDE, Gnome or XFCE. (If your not using one of these distros
you can use any install script and adjust the settings to your needs on the "Setup" tab.)
Added support for different file managers, text editors and more media players.
Added support for capturing directly to mp4 format. MPlayer/MEncoder needs to be installed.
Fixed the capturing time to allow for "Noon" and "Midnight" captures.
Adjusted the color scheme so hopefully it will look better with other setups.

(This is the Amarok 2 port of logger for Amarok 1.4 located at http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/logger?content=82041 )
logger is an Amarok 2 script that logs all songs listened. Each song (genre, artist, album, title) listened for more than 50 % is stored in an SQLite database (per month). So, nice statistics can be produced. The database is located in ~/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/scripts-data/logger.db.
The playstat script is an example statistics script. It can be run from a console (and will print some status messages to STDERR there). It has an INI-Style configuration file at ~/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/scripts-data/playstat.cfg (will be created with the default configuration on the first run) that tells it which statistics should be made and will write the HTML output to ~/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/scripts-data/playstat.htm by default. Feel free to experiment with it :-)
If you have been using logger with Amarok 1.4 before, you can simply copy your old database to the new place. Nothing changed concerning the database :-)
